dessert first! frozen yogurt

hi,

I noticed in the BFL book that Bill said more than once that frozen yogurt is NOT an option, which I found funny since I never eat it anyway. If you're going to go for something so sugary, you might as well get real gelato! ANYWAY, since starting I have developed my own type of frozen yogurt...a special treat everyday at 3 PM

To make this delight, mix together 3/4 cup of plain yogurt (I use 1%) with one scoop 100% whey chocolate flavoured protein powder, and one tablespoon pure, dutch processed cocoa. Freeze overnight. It will be rock solid in the morning, but when kept in the office fridge will be a delicious midday meal.

Enjoy!

I must say, ever since I've read this, I've made it almost everyday! It's delicious!

I get low-cal vanilla yogurt, mix it with a scoop of chocolate whey protein, and freeze for twenty minutes. SO good.

Thanks for the tip!

So this is good as a meal and not a snack? Or can it be a snack?

I'm having trouble figuring out some different things for snacks, besides the Myoplex shakes. Mr Happy won't drink them, and while I like them, I'd rather mix it up a bit and not have one for every snack.

I usually do it as a snack; especially later in the day.

If your hubby doesn't like the protein shakes, I would recommend non-fat yogurt and cottage cheese in addition to the whey protein and yogurt recipe. It's quick and easy and a balanced BFL meal with slow digesting proteins (which means it's especially good for your last meal of the day).

Have you tried protein bars? They're good for a quick meal on the run. Not all of them are healthy however (Promax bars are delicious, but they have 24 grams of sugar and only 20 grams of protein! May as well eat a Snickers.) Check the labels and make sure to keep the sugar under 6 grams or so and make sure it has at least 20-25 grams of protein to make it worthwhile. Detour bars are pretty darn good.

I also like to cut the core out of an apple and fill it with natural peanut butter (loaded with healthy fats and protein) for an occasional treat.
