Tuna Apple Salad

Recipe Name: Tuna Apple Salad Category: Lunch
Recipe Description:
Ingredients: 3 1/2 oz. tuna fish water-packed, low sodium 1/2 small apple 1 1/2 tbsp. low fat or nonfat mayonnaise 1/2 tsp. mustard, prepared 1/4 cup chopped onion 1/4 large celery stalk 2 cups lettuce, romaine or lettuce of choice 1 medium fresh tomato
Instructions: Drain and flake tuna. Rinse and dice apple and celery. Combine tuna, apple, onion and celery with mustard and mayonnaise until thoroughtly mixed. Rinse and dry lettuce; cut tomato into wedges and set aside. Place lettuce on plate and top with tuna mixture and tomato wedges. Serve.

Instructions:

Turkey Salad

Recipe Name: Turkey Salad Category: Lunch
Recipe Description: Mid Meal
Ingredients: 1 cup mixed salad greens 3 oz. low sodium, cooked & sliced turkey breast 1 tbsp. salad dressing, low fat or nonfat; low sodium 2/3 tbsp. sliced almonds
Instructions: Rinse and dry salad greens. Cut turkey into strips. Place lettuce and turkey strips in salad bowl; toss with salad dressing and top with almonds. Serve.

Ditto. I recently heard that on the average diet, most people only eat 10 foods over and over and over cuz they are afraid to venture out.

Similar to Chris' "thing" about not repeating a wo, I also try not to repeat a dinner (unless it's leftovers).

...On the turkey sandwich, it is 220cal---my bread is 110cal per slice! I get the roughest, grainy'est, darkest bread I can find. Ahhh, maybe this uses those "thin slice" breads.

yes i use the same bread as you do. I like the whole grain breads better. Just adjust your calories accordingly.

On the subject of bread... "the roughest, grainy'est, darkest bread I can find" is the way to go... You can be picky like me and not be satisfied with breads containing corn syrup, but I sometimes think that's a bit overboard. At this point, you have enough to worry about in just getting the details of the diet worked out....
