Upcoming week 3 obstacle

I'm currently in the middle of week 2 and things are going fairly well. I'm really happy with myself and how things are going.
Planning is integral to success almost anyway you look at it. Pick up a business book and you'll often hear how important planning is to become a successful person or to run a successful business, etc. Planning has also been a reason why I have enjoyed the BFL way of doing things. Though many will disagree, I like the rigid schedule BFL has. 12 weeks, six meals a day, alternate weights and cardio each day, one free day a week.
Week 3 will be a big test for me because I am going on a business trip to Las Vegas. (Seriously, Vegas is the land of buffets). I work for a family business (home care) and I will be attending a seminar there.
Looking at the calendar, I will be leaving mid-afternoon on the 15th and returning the 18th. So working out on the 15th is no problem and I'm assuming there is a fitness center at Mandalay Bay. I am particularly worried about eating. My plan is to pack some myoplex packets and I also bought some bars to snack on as meals. Since I'm just going with my parents, I don't expect to be partying and drinking alcohol. Just, perhaps, late nights on the casino floor.
Anyways, this is going to be an important week for me. I have no problems sticking to my routine on routine days, but staying on track in Vegas will be an obstacle no doubt.
Just thought I'd let everyone know in hopes to get some advice or suggestions, or hear about your past experiences on "business trips." It really is a business trip, but is it a REAL business trip if it's in Vegas?

Trips are hard. You'll find many tips on here about what to do.. and it sounds like you already know.. the tricky part is sticking to the plan once you get there.
My advice would be to make your workout a priority. Do it first. You don't have to go to buffets to eat in Vegas. Although there are many and they are cheap, the food is crap. Go grab something "smarter" and save half of it for the next meal. You'll be fine. ![]() |
