Week 5 ... Back in the game!

Last week was bad. Tired all week, bike was weak, weight routines were lacking. The scale says I broke even and I didn't set any highs.

Reaffirming my commitment here. Monday, 3 10's of the 5 routines and threw in an additional 30 minutes on the bike. Today I nailed the HIIT on the bike. 9's were 9's and my 10 was there.

What's different is the diet. I was munching on jerky last week and not drinking enough water. I'm sure that's what messed me up.

Day 24 ... exhausted

I'm running low on gas today. Was yesterday too. Don't know if my body is now complaining because of the change in diet, exercise or what. I know I'm sleeping 8-9 hours every night so that's probably not it.

Had early success with weight loss with low-carb and low-fat. May ease up a little to make sure my body is getting the fuel it needs.

My upper body routine this morning went well though I can see the BowFlex is going to need the 100 lb upgrade kit. I'm maxing...

Day 18 ... update

Day 0 ... 232 lbs
Day 11 ... 227 lbs
Day 18 ... 220 lbs ?

So says the scale. What am I doing that's different?

* I use to have an alcoholic drink 5 times a week and now I don't.
* I use to have a late night snack of chips & salsa or cheese and now I don't.
* I use to rely on a stationary bike for cardio and now I do the bike in the morning and add a 3-4 mile run in the mid-afternoon.

Day 18 ... Sore

Set highs on my pulldown exercises on Monday and my back is killing me. Tuesday, went running and the inside of my thighs are just now starting to tell me about it. Discovered frog squats and my quads are killing me (finally).

Pretty sore and heading downstairs now to do my cardio. Bring it on!

Day 13 - Validation?

Felt the need to give off more energy so instead of the BFL aerobic routine on my stationary bike I did an old routine on it: 45 minutes to some of my favorite music, metal. I average a 3 minute mile in this routine and maintain a BFL 7-8 intensity level until the last 10 minutes where Outlaw Torn, by Metallica, comes on and I start increasing the intensity. The 7th minute contains a guitar solo "gone crazy" and empty the tank during that.
