Ain't nothing wrong with running to Britney Spears. I definitely have a Toxic remix in my workout mix.
![]() If you can't find some of those, let me know and I'll send them to you. My most embarrassing (more than Toxic) is "Boys of Rock n' Roll" from the "Chipmunk Adventure." Ridiculous, I know.

If you have an iPhone, try installing the app "Pandora".
I put in one song that I like (Megadeth's Holy Wars) and out pours a flood of similar music, streaming, free. I really can not commend this service enough. Got me through a cardio that followed leg lifting with suitable aggression to hit my 10.5.

I'm a very big fan of music, but I can only really run to music that takes all my attention away. I can't listen to 3 minute radio garbage because it seems to just become "buzzing" in my ear; distraction rather than focusing.
I'll usually listen to: The Smashing Pumpkins Interpol Planet X Blindside Modest Mouse Final Fantasy music (my biggest secret!) Sigur Ros I have no problem running to slow music (hence Sigur Ros) and actually find the most "intensity" in the emotional elements of music rather than just the "beat" or "tempo". I would rather throw 2-3 long songs in the mix than bust through 5-10 short ones. I also try to time the climax of the songs with the intensity of the run. |
