How much cardio for former endurance athlete?

I have a very athletic background (ran a marathon, half ironman past year), but have body fat to lose. Do you all think I should amp up my cardio to more than 20 minutes? I am on day 5, been doing 20 min sessions for my first 2 and feel pretty worked aftwerwards. I never really did weights before and I am worried over-cardio-exercising will burn away my muscle during the program.

Any insight to this subject?

I'd stick with the 20 minute plan for now. Since you are new to weight training, you will probably notice significant body fat loss, exchanged for muscle. Try the BFL plan as written for a few weeks and see how you do.

I agree with this...weight training produces BF visceral fat loss (internal fat)..and that's where you want to lose now..combined with cardio is ideal and you will not lose muscle..more likely to tone, define,or gain a little..
