P90x Dvd

is anyone doing this for cardio?
I have been alternating between running and doing s video. I usually do Tae Bo, as I have an obsession with Billy Blanks. lol Yesterday my friend gave me a P90X DVD to try.. HOLY COW!!!!!!! I am in LOVE! I am not sure if this really fits the HIIT formula, but it makes me hurt in a good way, and is working muscles that I don't feel are getting a workout during my other cardio days.

What are your thoughts? Have you tried it? Do you have another "system" that you like?

I don't really go in for videos myself. My wife loves them though, she has a whole collection of different ones and even subscribes to a streaming exercise video website sometimes.

I have P90x. I actually did this for a while, but since I am a huge extrovert and like to be around people...it was too lonely for me. I do however, use a lot of the different workouts I have learned and incorporated them into my weight training.

As for cardio...the Kenpo really didn't do anything for me. Core Training and Plyometrics.......now those are the DVDs that really kick your butt.

I really don't follow the workout routines that BFL suggest...i just use this program to learn how to portion my food. I am training for a full marathon, so most of my cardio comes from that. I do also incorporate Yoga and kickboxing as well.

I don't do Yoga x...i used to, but that DVD is way too long. I bought Yogalosophy DVd and really love it.
So besides that..i do weight training as well.

Good luck.

I want more of the DVD's I only habe the KenpoX and the yogax. I LOVE yoga.. specifically ashtanga and so I enjoy the YogaX dvd. I would love to try the Core and Plyometrics! I'll have to see if I can get my hands on them! I like to switch it up, and I can't afford a membership to a gym. I do everything at home after the kids go to bed. Someday I will run a marathon!

You should definitely try to get your hands on plyo and core. I felt like such a wimp doing plyo because the people on the DVD do it so effortlessly. There is even a person on the DVD with an aesthetic leg.....which really makes me feel like a wimp.

I bought the Jillian Michaels book.. I wanted different exercises to do at home, since I don't have a gym membership. her workouts are KILLING me! I have been a slacker when it comes to diet, but I am going back on track this week!
I have yet to get my hands on those dvd's but Jillian right now is kickin my butt!
So I have strayed a bit from the BFL workouts, but I don't have weights heavy enough and I don't have machines. I have to find something that will give me results. So far I am FEELING like something is happening? Am I nuts? lol

You know, if you're enjoying the Jillian Michaels' workout, then go for it and do it.
I never really like to follow workout plans like what BFL has or other programs. I mean they're a great stepping stone and they're great if you enjoy it and you can learn a lot of new routines, but I never really like to follow them to a T. The whole point about changing your lifestyle to become a more active and healthier person is contingent if you enjoy it. When you do love it, you will continue to make it part of your routine.

I don't tell people that they need to run to lose weight. I run because I love it. Same if someone told me that I need to incorporate biking, swimming, stairs or interval training...etc. Sure, i will do it for the short term, but I will not maintain it because i don't enjoy it. I will have absolutely no motivation to do something that I do not enjoy.

Do what is fun for you.
