BFL Shopping list.

What does your grocery list look like?

I'm going for my first BFL oriented shopping trip and so far I see that I need:

1. Whole wheat bread.
2. Cottage Cheese
3. Fruit Juice
4. Frozen Fruit
5. Something called "whey".

Any essentials that I should grab?

I would definitely stock up on lots of different kinds of proteins so you don't get burnt out. Boneless skinless chicken breasts are great and versatile. Any sort of lean beef or turkey is also great for pastas, wraps, and tons of other recipes.

Also, for a treat you can have everyday, get a low-cal and low-sugar yogurt. Mix a scoop of your whey protein powder with a little bit of yogurt, freeze for 30 minutes, and have a delicious BFL-friendly frozen yogurt.

How good are say...beans and fish?

I'm going to need to make up for the fact that I don't really eat much bird or mammal. I am a recovering meataholic. Meat for me was like alcohol to an alcoholic. It's better I just avoid it altogether .

I still do dairy, beans, fish, tofu, anything but...

Here's a handy list of BFL approved foods. With no meat in your diet, you'll probably eat a ton of cottage cheese, tuna, and whey protein (not all at once, mind you).

Body-for-LIFE Shopping List

Good luck!

Awesome! Thanks!

I'll be adding in the Turkey because much as I should, I can't skip the bird this T-Day. One of my favorite holidays - I'm going to have to make it my off-day.

Turkey leftovers might make a good deal of my protien actually...now that I think about it.

Fish is great, even shrimp. It's also super fast to cook...so for me, it makes it ideal for this way of eating. I also like the Boca burgers (with pickles onions, mustard etc.
Eggs are another great option. We boil up a dozen, shell them and put them in a zip loc in the fridge. My boys and I like them with a little buffalo wing sauce on them.

Not at all. Feel free to resurrect topics.

Indeed, I'm BORED with the stuff I've been eating over and over again for the last 30 days. I went from never having tried cottage cheese to being burned out on it.

That's common.. eating something too much and getting burned on it. Since we eat 6x per day, we're likely to get sick of stuff faster too. I don't know the solution... I guess it's just keep trying new things and try with all your might not to over do the things you like.

Real problem for me is that I was planning on going back to eating meat, but I can't...I tried some Turkey and at first it was o.k. but now I can't get through it before it starts smelling and tasting like bad B.O. or something.

I think fish is the only thing I can expect to eat for meat...not sure how to supplement that.
