Wow, I thought I was in shape...NOT!!!
I went on a field trip yesterday with my 10yr old daughter to the New Orleans Audubon Zoo. This zoo is absolutely beautiful, especially now that it has been restored after the hurricane. But let me tell you, it is HUGE. We walked for 5 hours through this zoo and today when I got up to go workout I could hardly move. My chins, calves, hips and back were hurting so bad all I could do was take two Alieve and get back in bed!!! I thought after 7weeks of BFL training I would be fine, no problem. Boy was I wrong!!! I really feel for the people who were in worse shape than me....I can only imagine the pain they are feeling. Maybe I should walk more??? Why did this happen??? Anybody have any guess???

Because you haven't been training to walk, or be on your feet, for 5 hours straight. You were using muscles in ways that was new to them.
Take an epsom salt bath; it will help you recover quicker. Good for you going on the field trip. I bet your daughter loved having you there (even if she didn't tell you so.) |

Shoes too and definitely doing different excercises that your body is not use to for such a long duration - puts a lot of strain on your body! Walking is a great workout and now you know which muscles it's working!!!

That's endurance training baby! I'm amazed when I go to public places like that and get all exhausted. I wear a pedometer every day and sometimes I'm amazed at how tired I am and how few steps I've taken... happened just the other day on a VERY crowded trip to a public garden.
Since we are all a little masochistic here, congrats on the sore muscles! |
