For Women Only! :)

To My Fellow BFL Ladies,

Have any of you experienced bizarre menstrual cycles since starting BFL? I am on day 51 and haven't had my period since right before I started the program. Normally, it is incredibly regular.

Just curious...

I have heard that with intense physical activity/ weight loss you can really mess up your cycles. I am nursing and my cycles are all wacky anyway, so I haven't noticed anything.
There is a great book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility that answers lots of questions regarding cycles and birth control.. etc.

OMG I LOVE peanut butter.. seriously.. LOVE IT!!!!!!!! I am afraid I eat too much of it and it might be counter productive, but I CRAVE peanut butter. I am making sure that I am eating organic natural PB. So when I want to cheat I eat a spoonful of PB. Sometimes on a cracker... sometimes just off the spoon.

I eat a heck of a lot and have maintained it thru-out with no major changes, but I started to workout much harder and I barely get my period for the past few months. When I went to the doctor for my annual I asked and he said that unless I had other symptoms, this was normal. Just make sure you are eating enough calories

I'm a paramedic and i actually hear this a lot (weird i know) but normally when you have a change in your menstrual cycle it's common for it to be because you started a new exercise program. Some women tend to find that when they are physically active they dont bleed as badly or cramp as much during their cycle. It's very common when you start an exercise program to "overtrain" so evaluate yourself to see if you might be pushing yourself a little too hard.

"Regular exercise and keeping fit and healthy can help regulate the menstrual cycle. On the other hand, exercising too much and overstressing the body can have a negative effect on the hormones to the extent that menstruation may cease."

Another common thing I see is when you have a sexually active person who might have become pregnant. So you might want to consider taking a pregnancy test if you aren't sure.
