Anyone else having trouble keeping workout time to 46 minutes?
I know that I need to be more aware of my one minute rest between reps and perhaps I lift generally slower than some, but I have yet to even get close to 46 minutes an a single workout. I usually set aside an hour each morning that I work the upper or lower body, but I often end up splitting my workout into a morning and night session to finish.
I guess I could just get up earlier (eeeek), but does anyone else have this problem? I wonder if I am sabatoshing my workout by breaking them up? I know sometimes I tell myself that I will finish my workout in the evening though life gets in the way sometimes. I am guilty of not keeping perfect records of my time, but it can run me 1.5 hours easily at times. Any thoughts? Thanks all.

How slow are you lifting each rep? Are you saying like BODY FOR LIFE up and BODY FOR LIFE down? |

1) Splitting it up is fine. Probably would do more for your metabolism this way anyhow...
2) It's really, really hard to do it in the allotted time. If you do anything 1 armed, 1 legged, 1 sided, etc. It's almost impossible to get out on time. Do you carry a stopwatch with you? Mine broke recently, but it's my workout buddy. I beep it as soon as I'm done with my set and then get the weights ready right away. I sit down for a second or two and then am ready to launch at about 45 seconds. I aim for starting my next set at 50 seconds, take a deep breath, and then go for it. There's no time to waste... The other option is to workout when you don't need to pay attention to it. That's what I do now. I still try to take slightly less than a minute between sets, but I don't care how long my workout takes. I usually budget 1 hr give or take a few minutes. |

I don't mind making extra time if that what it takes. I just don't want to veer to far from the regime and miss that High Point that so crucial. It's hard to push myself that HARD in the mornings but I will adapt. Side note: I ordered a bottle of MMUSA ATP plus joint serum (with creatine). I have been told that it offers positive results if taken just before a workout. I think I'll start another thread on that now. Chime in on it if you have thoughts. Thanks for everyones help!

Hi Freespirit!!!
Good for you to focus on your training - it's not a bad thing that your over in time, means your working hard! My upper body usually takes me a good 45 mins including my 5 minute warmup. My cardio I alot 25 mins plus 5 mins for abs. Then my lower body seems to only take 30 mins although I think I should push a little harder. I think an hour is great time for you and most - my gym is very quiet at 6am so I don't have to wait for machines!!

Thanks for chimin' in Sunshine and Sladey. I often overthink the situation and micromanage my progress. Some times I need to just make sure I am sticking to it and allowing myself enough time to get the job done.
I do all of my workouts at home using and exercise ball, treadmill, Bowflex Selecttech adustable dumbells and a bench. That is the one thing I did right, keep the equipment simple and make it work. If I skip a day or a few reps it's almost like the equipment is staring at me in dissappointment ![]() Thanks again and keep in touch with your progress as well!
