Somebody congratulate me
Today is the end of week four.
I started C1 at 234 lbs. My original goal weight for C1 was 216 lbs. I weighed in today at 213.5 lbs. Apparently 18 pounds wasn't enough of a goal for twelves weeks. I'm revising my goals: Short term: 209 lbs (WHO cutoff for obesity at 5'10") End of Challenge: 200 lbs. I think I'm going to put "Short Term" as "by the end of week seven." Anyway, I'm terribly sorry to brag, but I had to tell someone. |

Wow, great job, Winnie. Even taking into account the quick initial weight loss from water weight, that's awesome for 4 weeks.

Thanks guys.
I think that the coolest thing so far has been the increasing definition in my upper body, especially shoulders, biceps, and back. It's not impressive, but it's noticeable in the mirror. I really didn't expect to see any real muscle gains because I expected a good sized layer of fat to be covering my progress, even at the end of 12 weeks. I think this will still be the case for my lower body, because of the way my fat is laid out. However, if everything were perfect, it'd be a lot harder to set goals for C2. ![]() Oh, and I can start to see my toes peeking out when I look down. I think the smartest thing I've done in the past four weeks was to tell everyone I know that I'm doing this. I even explained my diet to the people I eat with before I started it. Now, I get support rather than puzzled looks. I think it also keeps me honest to some extent, because I've committed to myself to do this for at least twelve weeks, and enough people know it that I can't go back without looking like a total noob. Anyway, rambling. Sorry. |

Yesterday's weigh-in: _207.5_
Reactions: 1) Yay, it's less than 209, and a full week ahead of schedule. 2) I lost 4 pounds last week? Does this mean I'm doing something wrong? |

How long have you been overweight? Were you 230+ for a while or was most of the weight somewhat recently and quickly gained? |

If your eating your six I'd keep going the way you are going and wouldn't worry about it. People will claim your losing it too fast or that it will come back on if you loss it too fast (which in my opinion is a way to justify their own weight lose to themselves).
Some people just have the ability to drop weight faster just like some are blessed with the ability to eat whatever they want and not gain a pound. Congrats, looking forward to hearing how the progress goes. Chris

Great Job Winnie. I wish I could lose as fast as you. What's your typical diet?

Arghhh!
Staying motivated got really hard in the past week or so. Keeping up the diet has been fairly easy, but sticking with the workouts has been hard. I've subbed a couple workouts for longer runs, because I actually enjoy running, in an attempt to keep morale high. I also had some slippage on the diet this weekend. I was doing some field work with a large group of biologists and basically ate what was in front of me. It was pretty much worth it, even it it cost me progress, so I'm not complaining about that. It is frustrating that I made negative progress right on the verge of breaking 200 lbs. My goal for this week is just to actually do all the workouts. I really just want to see a number less than 200 lbs on the scale, and I think this is the week that will happen, assuming I didn't do too much damage this weekend. |
