Am I going to need a tummy tuck?
Okay so I know it's going to take probably the entire 12 weeks (maybe more) to lose this little baby belly (so maybe not so "baby") since the "deep end of the pool" empties last but my question is this: does the skin on your tummy retract as well? I already have some lose skin on my belly from two pregnancies and I'm worried that the smaller my belly gets the more skin I'm going to have hanging around. Anyone been through the program with this problem? Did your skin tighten up around that six pack or did it hang there remding you of when you were fat???
Just wondering what I might be dealing with post program #1. Maybe I should have bought a sexy one piece instead of a bikini for my "After" pictures....

I think it depends on how much you have to lose....if it's 20 you're probably fine....but there are so many factors...You'll just have to see.
I can tell you that when I did this before, and lost 20lbs, everything tightened up....but I was early thirties and not that overweight. Okay, I just reread this, and don't find it particularly helpful! Sorry! But I'll post anyway. |

I don't have a heck of a lot to lose. I'm 5'5 and 120lbs but I'm one of those fat skinny people who are all jello. I'm a size 6 and I want to be a 2 so I'm thinking if I lose 16lbs of fat and gain 6lbs of muscle that ought to do it. I'm turning 27 this month so I'm still pretty youngish. Crossing my fingers.

Oh, I think you'll be fine! Skin is an incredible organ...think of how big your belly was when you were pregnant.

Keep in mind cells in the body die and replenish every couple of weeks. While you are losing weight the skin will tighten on its own. Tummy tucks are for when someone has a large amount of fat depleted in a very short amount of time ie surgery , gastrointestinal bybass , etc.
Your tummy will look perfectly fine, besides you are 26 you are still very young. Your skin will easily tighten up. Collagen fibers don't loosen up untill after menopause ![]()

How old are you?The younger the more elastic the skin.By the look of your picture it wont be a problem

Actually I was going to post the same question. What kind of factor would it be for a huge guy. I started this off at 348lbs. Anyone know how its affected people on the BFL program who have lost a significant amount of weight?

O wow.... this is the question now isn't it. I'm 5'1 currently 121lbs. I was about 145 6 weeks after delivering my second baby (and 132 in college) So you could say I'm well on my way to looking better than I've ever looked. However, these days I think my belly button will never be cute again. If I didn't know better one might think my baby's actually came out of it. At 25% body fat still, I hope it will begin to look better as I get closer to my goal. But the process has been painfully slow!
