losing weight but not alot of fat
I am on week 4 of the program and had my follow up testing yesterday.
I have lost 4.2kg in 3 weeks from a starting weight of 102.2kg. Now my question is pretty simple - I had the fat test and have lost less than 1%. Now the first thought would be diet but this is pretty good with tuna protein shakes and cottage cheese usual stuff. I have lost 2 inches from around my waist but am confused ![]() any comments much appreciated. |

2inches off ur waist??
firstly you should be celebrating that! secondly dont be too hard on urself...these things take time! if u say ur diet is good then there should be no problem, are you doing the correct cardio and eating enough to sustain your new way of exercise? honestly i am two months into the challenge, my second one and it was a while before i started seeing amazing results! keep at it dont lose hope...i know and you know getting the body u have always dreamed of takes time... ![]() |

tuna protein shakes? yuck! .... j/k.
If you are eating close to the plan (post a typical day's diet and we'll critique), then don't be too worried about what kind of weight you're losing. I used to be really paranoid about losing muscle instead of fat. But I guarantee there will be enough muscle under that fat to make the process worth it. Keep carving down the fat, losing the inches, dropping the scale weight, and enjoy the process. You're well on your way now. Body fat testing is just 1 variable in the process. Usually we tell folks this when they're frustrated with the scale not moving, but the same thing applies to body fat. It's only 1 of the many variables we use to track progress. If progress is evident in the other variables, then don't get disappointing if this 1 measure is a little "off". But keep in mind that it is a loss... 1kg of fat loss is a good thing. Keep at it, you're doing great! |

Body-fat measurements, depending on the method used and the experience of the person taking the measurements, can be extremely inaccurate. There is one thing I can tell you, you didn't lose 2" of muscle from around your waist! Keep it up, it sounds like you're doing just fine!
