thoughts on lifting straps

What are your thoughts on lifting straps?

Here are mine: For some exercises like deadlift and straight leg deadlift, I am at the point where I can lift far more with my legs and back than I can with my hands. I mean, I'm all for using these types of exercises to strengthen grip, which I think is really important. But I've been at a forced plateau for a while now and I think it's time to get some straps... The heaviest weight I can pickup and hold with my hands is around 120# plus the bar, I can fairly easily do this for 10 to 12 reps but my hands and fingers are screaming at me (like I'm going to drop it). Normally, I'd say it's beyond time to go up in weight, but to do so I'll need to get some straps.

I guess I've been waiting for my grip to get stronger, but it just isn't happening.... my only hesitation is this feeling that straps are kinda like cheating... What do you guys think, should I get the straps?

There's nothing wrong with straps. It's not cheating, some time it's a necessatie with the heavier excercises, such as deadlifts and shrugs. Go for it!!

The straps are my new best friend... I almost doubled my weight in deadlift yesterday and finally felt it in all the right places. Highly recommended! Thanks for the encouragement guys!
