    I have just completed an 8 week challenge to lose 30lbs of fat and gain 20 lbs of muscle. I am trying to recover from my long-neglected case of CECS (Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome) which was relieved two years ago with bilateral fasciotomies.

Started lifting again. I'm going to do a slightly modified program until a trainer helps me set up something I can do without messing myself up too much. The nerve problems in the elbow and forearm fascia really worried me last time...so now I'm using advice from my last trainer: He told me that after the first set, the amount of benefit decreases drastically and the probability of injury increases drastically...so he told me to do only one set. I'm splitting the difference and doing 3-4 sets...

One lesson learned: There is such a thing as too much cardio for me.

I cut my calories HARD and started biking 25 miles a day on the weekend, I was looking into taking on my first 'century' next weekend and researching for a better bike than my rusty 30 lb pos. I'd been biking every other day, longer and longer, and had hoped I was finally tackeling the fat. I'm getting really into biking now. This weekend I blew off a chance to go see the Rat City Roller Girls and drink beer to instead challenge myself to the longest bike ride of my life.

I rode from Seattle to Woodinville, a distance of about 25 miles. The next day I rode the same path back. It took me 2 hours each way and was an incredible workout. I get differing results for how many calories I've burned...some estimates say 3000+, others 1400...either way, I burned more than...

Only a 6 mile round trip, but great fun.

Worried that I'm feeling fatter, pants fitting tighter, and I look fatter in mirror. How can this be? I'm biking my butt off...I should be shedding fat hand over fist.

Definitely felt some fatigue in my legs form yesterday's ride.

Gunna have to skip it tomorrow and just walk the dog instead so my legs can recoup. I could lift weights, but am not sure what kind of weight program I want to start...

I'm getting into this biking thing. My body just snaps to this excercise so well. Probably because as a Kid, I biked everywhere or walked everywhere. I loved dirt biking and adventure bike trail exploring. Now I'm exploring the urban trails and adventures.
