I have the book.
For me, I didn't like it. The workout progam is not the same as the original BFL book, which I prefer. It is a lot of the same old, same old. Woman went through a divorce, felt bad, got motivated, completed the program, life is great again. The book is collecting dust in my bookcase, but my original BFL book is out on my coffee table for me to pick up and browse instead of heading for the fridge when I have the munches at night. But this is just my opinion. I thought I might be more inspired because it was a book aimed at women, but I wasn't.

I have that book too and just would not recommend it. There were a few minor differences in the program itself - but it focused on hormones and psychology way too much. For example, that book recommends that before you start a program, you solicit volunteers (friends and family) to be your "estogen squad", so that can offer support in your BFL program.
Lots of psycho babble in my opinion. |

I am more into doing things on my own. Its nice when someone says hey great job or you look good, but I dont need someone to hold my hand. I get enough support from all of you on here

I've read Body for Life for women. Personally I feel that it is more of a marketing ploy to get women to buy these books because women tend to shy away in general from workout programs because of the masculine implications of lifting weights and getting "bulky."
I'm surprised they haven't come out with, "Body for Life for Gays" and "Body for life for people under 5'4." I think the original has more than enough proof in terms of female transformations that the book can be just as effective for women. |
