The price difference between almond butter and peanut butter is huge. Not so bad if you eat a little here and there but if you eat alot of it day in day out it can really add up fast. A 20 oz jar is about 2.50 vs almond butter for 8 oz for around 10 bucks.

Almond butter tastes a bit sweeter. It's good, but in my opinion - not worth the extra expense, because it's just so similar to peanut butter. I've also tried hazelnut butter which was not as good - plus it has even MORE calories than peanut butter (I think 120 per tbsp)

Natural peanut butter is so good! I've been using it for a few years now in order to cut some hydrogenated oils from my diet. Beware of the brands that have anything other than peanuts and salt in the ingredients list. Skippy makes some natural that has sugar added!

I don't think its more expensive than peanut butter (at Trader Joes at least) and IMO its 10x better. Cinnamon raison Ezekiel bread, almond butter and wild berry jelly is the shizz. try it.

is peanut butter allowed on body for life. ive seen a lot of diets recommend it such as cellulite diets so i presumed it was healthy but when i looked at the ingredients it has an awful lot of fat in it. then again i dont know if thats good or bad fat

At the risk of sounding silly, how do I tell the difference between natural peanut butter, and some regular branded peanut butter? Is there a difference?

Look at the ingredients list... natural peanut has either just peanuts or peanuts and salt. Not-so-natural peanut butter has other stuff on the ingredients list; it's often sweetened, and has chemicals added to it to keep the oil from separating. The separation of the oil at room temperature is another clue that you have natural peanut butter.

The only really "BAD" fats are trans fats. NOT natural peanut butter has partially hydrogenated oils (i.e. trans fat) added. I think this makes it more visually appealing, spreadable, etc. but it give pb it's poor reputation for being unhealthy. Follow Rhone's advice and it will be a fantastic addition to your diet.

AGREE!

Trader Joe's Organic Peanut Butter is the BOMB, and so is the Almond Butter... Chris I have to try the Ezekiel and Jelly thing.... Wow, Sounds TASTY. Do you do that as a mini meal or as part of Breakfast?
