It was on sale at Costco and so I bought it and I think it tastes better than regular 100% whey protein.

Yes. I felt it was much more effective, I have used it for 2 months now and I have grown an inch on my arms and legs in muscle mass. I think it is better tasting and I have seen great results.

I also like the EAS chocolate whey protein. You can get a 6lb bag at BJ's wholesale for 30.00. That is 90 servings. Put a drop of peppermint oil in it and you got yourself a chocolate mint shake. YUMMMMM

GNC is a rip off. A 1lb bag of their flavored Whey is 12-15.00!!!!!!!!!!

I can't stomach that 6star crap. It digests like a pile of bricks.. There are some decent cheap brands out there though. Lynn's EAS recommendation is a great deal. Also check out Optimum Nutrition. I think Amazon is having a big sale on it right now.

I second optimum nutrition. Tastes good and digests easily.

bigthunder - try the skim deluxe and 1 scoop - you get like 33 grams of protein and only 200 calories - rather than 350 calories and more protein than you might be able to digest (there is debate about anything over 45 or so).

But the optimum nutrition has been my staple since.

I assume most of you guys are in the US. I cant see me being able to get the big bag of EAS protein in the UK or Ireland for anywhere near that price.

Is anyone else using a protein shake + banana (or other fruit) as a meal as opposed to using Myoplex? It's very expensive here plus I'd rather get some nutrients from whole foods than from a product.

Thus, I havent tried Myoplex and didnt use it at all on my first bfl cycle last year. Anyone like it as opposed to whey protein and fruit. Notice and benefits?

I've tried a few of the meal replacement powders. I much prefer the whey + fruit version. I find that no matter what my starting material is, I still want the fruit... I guess I just don't like them plain that well. For this reason, it's better for me to just use the whey.

I often mix fruit in with my protein powder. 4 ices cubes, a cup of milk, a banana and some strawberry protien powder makes a good shake.

Peanut butter and vanilla protein powder with milk and ice cubes makes a good shake too.

Thanks Chris. Thats kinda what I wanted to hear. I know it works better for me but was just afraid that I may be missing something.

Great ideas there Blue. I could do with those at the minute. My diet seems to be getting very boring. I need to mix it up a bit.

No, I really don't think you'll be missing anything. There are some extra supplements thrown in sometimes, but even these are cheaper and more effective if taken separately (or added by you). For convenience, sure MRP are fine... but for no other reason would I recommend them.

A while back I got a MRP that I couldn't drink at all. It was like cement. so I purchased a few artificial flavorings that you use for baking (vanilla, mint, almond, etc.). These make welcome additions for bland powders (or even just a little variety). Chocolate cinnamon is dreamy.

i have whey and fruit plus 2 slices of wholemeal taost. i know fruit is carbs but if u have a myplex shake u are still meant to have fruit too, or if u have pasta and tuna ur still meant to have fruit aswell cos uve got to fit ur 5 portions in somewhere. i dont think that fruit is actually classed as a carb portion, i think its meant to be taken aswell as ur carbs.

i know myplex is expensive so i only use it as a post workout meal. thats 3 scoups a weeks so a £35 20 servs box lasts me 6 weeks. myplex is perfect for post workout cos its got a whopping 40g protein in it and carbs which ur body needs

Couldn't you just as easily get that much protein from whey and save the myoplex stuff for when you don't have time for a proper meal?

I know for me anyway that the biggest advantage of the myoplex shakes is the ability to stash them places for when I'm too busy to stop and eat.

whey protein usually contains 23g protein and no carbs. post workout u need carbs in liquid form instead of solid and if u can get 40g protein down ur neck then thats better than 23g
