Betagen
Who here takes Betagen? I jar doesn't tell you when to take the stuff. I'm suppose to take 3 servings a day. A serving is 2 scoops. I take 1 scoop 30 mins before a workout. After my workout I take 2 scoop with my Myoplex Shake. I also take 1 scoop before bed time. But I still would like to know when to correctly take this stuff. Thxs

I just started it an am only using it 2x a day, for women I think 2x a day is ok guys should be 3x a day. I have a serving in the morning (well, I will next week when I add mornings) I'm only doing 1x a day after w/o right now cuz it made me a little twitchy at first.

This is a great question - I wandered through GNC today - and was like - what the *(&(P*&)(*&*%$&^%????
I did BFL the first time with just taking shakes and bars - I need to start to beef that up as my body weight is dropping like mad right now - and would like guidance on where to go from here. Gnash, Chris???? 170 pound guy - trying to win BFL - what the heck should I be taking to get the maximum results in 10.5 weeks?

Will save my thoughts on GNC for another day...
EAS Betagen: Phosphagen HMB taurine glutamine Builds muscle faster Burns fat Tastes like Tang Basically, from what I understand, it helps "push" water into your muscles which alleviates DOMS, so therefore you workout a little harder, build more muscle therefore burn more fat. I can attest that even 1 serving (women should take 2-3 men should take 3) a day has seriously minimized DOMS. As for working out harder, I AM working out harder this week, but that could be because I'm in week 7 and getting stronger and I want to reach my goal so I'm busting my ass harder than I even did in my first 6 weeks. It does give some people heartburn (probably acidic since it's like tang in taste) and it did make me feel twitchy like I had too much caffeine the first 2 times I took it so I only take it 1x a day. I may bump it to 2x next week but if 1x works, why take more? hope that helps

I think Bill Phillips takes it. It taste pretty good and I heard it works really well. I've been taking it for about 2-3 months how but I don't really know what it has done. At first when I started I got bloated a lot but now its no problem.

To maximize results:
Follow BFL but with these modification... Count your calories for 1 week while consuming BFL meals. This will give you an idea of what you are eating and how many calories you are taking it... Then make some adjustments to your diet based on your goals. If you are like me, getting big requires EATING. This doesn't mean cookies and beer though, it means bigger portions of BFL approved meals. After a couple weeks counting calories you'll have a decent idea of what you need to eat at each meal and what "your" portions should look like (*your* b/c it's based on your goals). To determine caloric needs do a quick internet search for BMR and/or AMR. You can calculate calorie needs based on your weight, bodyfat, and activity levels.

Oh and IMO don't supplement too heavily until you get the diet and exercise program close to perfect (and do it for a while, several weeks, otherwise it's a waste of money)
Supps I recommend: Whey Creatine Multivitamin

Hi,
If you look on the BFL Challenge entry kit, which I downloaded from the american site, theres a page 11 shows you what products you can take to achieve different goals. I'm not looking to enter the challenge, just downloaded it for more information about BFL. Hope that helps. It also gives you an idea of when to take the products/supplements. |
