1st Week Upper Body Soreness

Hey,

After a long summer hiatus, I'm back on the BFL bandwagon and boy is my body unhappy about it. I did upper body on Sunday, nothing too strenuous, focusing on form over weight, but my muscles are still sore today (Wednesday).

My question is: If I'm still this sore tomorrow for my next upper body day, do I skip it? Working out sore muscles is counterproductive (let alone uncomfortable!), but I'd hate to skip a day so early into my program.

I've never been this sore for this long, so it's never been an issue in my previous BFL attempts.

whenever i ive started a bodyforlife programme in the past ive always given myself 2 weeks of lifting weights before i officially start. this gives you time to get through the muscle soreness before you start.

i was so sore once that when i did cardio i had to stop after 5 mins. now i didnt want to have a 5min cadio day on my official challenge so that why i used it as part of the 2 weeks ''break in period''

you can workout... a little soreness might actually help you at this point. Granted, it's best to give yourself plenty of rest, but I'd say this is over the long term. I would select a different list of exercises than you did earlier in the week, and focus on compound moves that train multiple muscle groups. Take it "easy" just like you did earlier, think about form form form form form... and a little more form. Go for it, you'll be fine.
