Really sore
I started BFL on Monday (not in the official challenge) with the upper body "pyramid" program. I have worked out with weights many times over the years, but never a Pyramid type of regimen.
I have been experiencing a surprising amount of muscle pain over the last two days. My question is: Do you think I over did the workout, or is this pain typical due the the pyramid program being more affective? Maybe nutrition? ![]() |

its perfectly normal. it happens in the 1st week or 2 but once the 3rd week comes along the pain should be gone for good i'd be worried if you wasnt in pain in the 1st week or 2 cos that would be an indication that your workouts werent intense enough |

hold on... it depends on the muscle pain you are referring to. Is the pain like a soreness (almost like a good pain?) or is it something that is very excruciating where you can not do simple tasks because your joints/muscles hurt to much?

I found the body for life program to be much harder on the mucles meaning much more soreness. Unless its an acute shooting pain its perfectly normal. Try and drink a workout drink with plenty of protein directly after your workout to help alleviate future soreness like that

I guess I would say that it's the good pain, just a lot more of it than I have ever had, and some in different places. Like it is painful to touch the front of my shoulders, like a bruise. |

yeah your pain sounds like the good kind lol... dont worry after a few workouts it will drastically die down... sometimes you wont feel soreness at all.

Ok, you guys were right! The soreness went away THE DAY I was supposed to do my next upper body workout. I can see that this beating that I am giving my body will be a good thing! Pain = Gain - at least at first...
